LIFE & LEGACY is a partnership of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and the United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan and Darien that promotes after-lifetime giving to benefit synagogues, social service organizations and other Jewish agencies. Legacy giving—sometimes called planned giving—strengthens Young Israel of Stamford and, in many instances, also provides you with tax advantages. It ensures that you will be remembered both by those who directly benefit from your generosity to the synagogue as well as those who will be inspired by your example of planning for future donations.
The Endowment for Young Israel of Stamford
Young Israel has created a permanent endowment fund whose long-term growth will produce investment and interest income to supplement our ongoing programming, personnel, and building-upkeep expenses. While the principal - made up of legacy gifts from members and friends of the Young Israel of Stamford - will be preserved, the income from the endowment is needed to augment annual fundraising and membership dues which make up the preponderance of our yearly budget.
What is a Legacy Gift?
Everyone has a unique family and financial situation. Your legacy gift of any size can be designed to match your personal circumstances.
Options include:
- A gift in your will or trust
- A beneficiary designation in your retirement account
- A life insurance policy designation or gift
- An outright gift using cash, stock, real estate, or other property
- A charitable trust
